My Father is Alright

My father is alright, But he was just in a car crash. He’s in the hospital now, For injuries unknown. My father is alright, But he can’t work anymore. He tells me that we’re fine, Yet I know there is more. My father is alright, But he seems miserable. He’s been only watching TV, And reminisces the good ol’ days. My father is alright, But his boss is not. He was the driver, And the accident’s his fault. My father is alright, But now people are in mourning. His old boss is dead, Found with a rope ‘round his neck. My father is alright, But he now has a lawyer. The other driver is suing him, They think it’s all his fault. My father is alright, But it’s been three years. Nothing has happened, They must have forgotten us. My father is not alright, ‘Cause the case is over. His boss was on the phone, And my father was eating food. My father is not alright, For he lost the case. He is going to prison, For something he didn’t do.
