Young but not so reckless
Young and reckless is a brand and not a lifestyle. Many people lose their lives unnecessarily to reckless drivers. If many of these deaths could be prevented then what has stopped us from taking the next step for current and future generations. At least 1 in 4 of all car crashes involve phone use with that said the phone HAVE to go. I promote that car makers mandate that a technology software be installed in all vehicles during manufacturing that requires the driver to plug in their phone to a USB cable attached to their car disabling the phone for the time that the car is on. The system would allow that the phone distraction be minimized to the driver, but would allow the driver to use only for emergency calls to 911. Also, if the driver were to unplug the phone the car’s system would notify them that is will shut off and turn the emergency lights on. Another reckless engagement is driving without a seat belt, statistics say that 50% of the people who lose their lives in collisions each year would still be alive if they had worn a seat belt. I propose that car manufactures mandate that during manufacturing it be mandated that all vehicles be installed with a software that will start the vehicle once all passengers have buckled up. Most vehicles already have the technology to beep when the drive or front seat passenger is not wearing their seat belt, but all seats in a vehicle should beep and buckled before a vehicle is started because no passenger’s life is more valuable than the next. All vehicles have governors in them that allows vehicles to hit their max speeds before shutting off, but if you can govern the max speed of the vehicle why can’t you govern the max speed based off the speed limit. When using GPS it is able to tell you the speed limit of the road you are on. With that said all future cars should be manufactured with a GPS system to allow the car to know the speed limit of the road you are driving on and govern the speed based off the speed limit. Allowing for the vehicle to govern the speed you drive at would encourage drives to drive less recklessly by speeding and follow the law putting less people at risk. Many recklessness actions can be reduced by car manufacturers and the control they have with systems included in their vehicles. Car manufacturers are the first step towards reducing reckless actions.
