Credits: produced & wrote by me Lyrics: [Chorus] I know you wanna check up with your friends every single second of the day You can try and send that text but they might not hear from you anyway It doesn’t even matter what it is it can wait x2 [Verse] Before it’s too late, tell me if you wanna risk it The consequences can be much greater than a ticket Instagram and Snapchat will be there when you’re finished How ’bout you put your phone away for like, 5 minutes, oh my god Don’t even think you’re slick with it Like “I’ll take one glance”, are you really this addicted? Put it in your trunk if you’ll miss it, turn it off and don’t listen If not then that could be it [Chorus] I know you wanna check up with your friends every single second of the day You can try and send that text but they might not hear from you anyway It doesn’t even matter what it is it can wait x2 Backstory: This song takes a stance of concern in one of many causes of crashes: dependency on one’s phone. I can’t count the amount of times when I was riding passenger to a driver who checked their phone on every long road or stoplight, not paying their full attention to the environment around them. It’s quite concerning and bothersome whenever it happens, and the lyrics sum up my thoughts on the matter. I produced this song to fit more of the pop/hip-hop genre, because that’s what’s in right now. Imagine listening to the radio when a song with a message like this plays! Music certainly influences many people, and this song is certainly a prototype of what can be, if celebrities promoted this kind of impact more often.
