The way to fix distracted driving when it comes to cellphones would be a costly, but effective solution. Every car would have a small compartment on the dashboard to charge the phones. Then, once the car is put in any gear other than park, the compartment will close and lock until the car is parked or turned off. This would ensure that there would be no texting and driving, unless there was a hands-free device in the car that allowed for it. There could be a requirement that all cell phone locking cars have the hands free car pairing, such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There would also be no worry about phones losing battery while locked up, because the compartment would have charging capability. This keeps people from being on their phones while simultaneously being on the road.
My writing isn’t a poem, or an essay, or anything like that. It is simply a logically thought through solution to the problem at hand, just like the prompt asks for. This is my writing style, short and to the point, because this is how essays will be in college, little to no fluff around the edges.
