Don’t Drive Distracted

We all claim we do not do it We all deny when it’s brought up But we think about it later, And it turns to a guilty lump We all say we won’t pick it up We say we prioritize But importance goes out of the window When that single notification catches our eyes We know we’ve picked up that lit screen many times But when we drift over the centerline, it hums rhythmic rhymes We swerve back over the line just in time To save someone’s life and prevent a murderous crime When we recap what happens we are shaken But what will we say when another’s life is taken? So you see tragic wrecks do happen So next time you drive, switch the phone to off mode And wait just a little longer for that notification to load

Description

This poem is about staying off of your phone while driving. It hits near the end when it brings in the sensitive subject about another’s life.
