Don’t Drive Distracted
The day was too cold, the road too slick, I told you not to leave, yet, to think- No one could have seen it coming, The tragedy that is your death. I told you to be careful, said My fairwells and adieu, But how ever could I have seen, The miserable end of you? You texted on your phone? You said you’d be back soon? Why not see the irony, that it Would lead you to your doom? “It’s just a text, no need to fret,” And now, here I sit alone, I shouldn’t have listened to your insistence, For now, I am forlorn, And I can’t understand what you meant, When you said you’d be back soon.
The feelings of one who has lost their loved one to a cause that would have been preventable.
