Just a Glance

It was just a glance; I needed to see Who that Snapchat Was from It was just a glance; I needed to make Sure that text wasn’t Important It was just a glance; When I looked down The light was still green It was just a glance; That’s all I saw before I crashed into you, Before the blackness It was just a glance; That’s all I saw of Your dead, lifeless body Before they covered you With a white sheet It was just a glance; That’s all I saw of Your weeping family As I walked into the Courtroom It all started with Just a glance but For the next 15 years I get to stare Staring at the blank Prison walls. Staring At my excuse of a Bed. Staring at nothing While kicking myself For taking just one Glance.
