THE CREATE REAL IMPACT CONTEST IS OFFERED ONLY IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA BY IMPACT TEEN DRIVERS FUND (“SPONSOR”) TO PROMOTE OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING AWARENESS AND EDUCATION REGARDING THE DANGERS OF DISTRACTED DRIVING AND POOR DECISION MAKING. CONTEST BEGINS January 17, 2017 at 12:01am PST AND ENDS March 17, 2017 at 11:59pm PST (“CONTEST PERIOD”).
Create Real Impact Contest Awards are open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia between the ages of 14 and 22 years. Entrants must be enrolled as full-time students in an accredited educational institution (secondary [middle/high] school, trade school, college, or university). The Contest process runs between January 17, 2017 at 12:01am PST, through March 17, 2017 at 11:59pm PST (the “Contest Period”).
1. Create an original work showcasing your idea for a SOLUTION or STRATEGY to fix the very real problem of reckless and distracted driving.
Note: The focus of this contest are solutions to the problem of driving distractions such as texting, talking on the phone, eating, applying makeup, showing off, etc. behind the wheel. While extremely dangerous and highly illegal, drinking and driving/impaired driving is NOT the focus of this contest. Entries involving drinking and driving/impaired driving WILL NOT be accepted.
Please use professional language. Entries with profane language WILL NOT be accepted.
The Sponsor has the right reject or remove entries for any reason, including those that demonstrate unsafe distracted driving behavior behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.
2. Ensure your entry is in the correct and accepted format for each category:
In addition to the general categories above, we have two special categories for additional prize consideration:
Building skill at practice takes 100% effort and focus from each athlete. Driving a car is also a skill that requires the same effort and focus. The top way to become a better driver is to drive more— conscientiously, of course. It is, after all, a skill—one we shouldn't take for granted. A Sports Theme entry should make the connection between sports and the dangers of reckless and distracted driving. Here are two examples of sports themed entries: http://impactteendrivers.org/resources/videos/psa/drowsy-driving-psa-i-was-tired and http://impactteendrivers.org/resources/videos/psa/distracted-living (specifically the selfie on the basketball court).
(Please note: Impact Teen Drivers reserves the right to not award a prize in the specialized categories of Spanish Language and Sports Theme if a minimum number of submissions are not received.)
3. Enter and register! Click the “Enter” button on the home page. Upload your entry and click “Submit.” Then, complete the registration form to finish your admission into the Create Real Impact contest.
